Lead Business Systems Analyst

The Business Systems Analyst Lead's role is to lead a team of systems analysis professionals to ensure that they meet and exceed business needs. This position will provide career guidance, advice and mentoring to team members in Business Systems Analysts best practices. Will be a liaison among stakeholders to define and validate solutions that meet business needs, goals, and objectives. This includes gathering and analyzing data in support of business cases, proposed projects, and systems requirements. The Business Systems Analyst Lead will work to align the business needs to capabilities delivered through various solutions, including information technology, and serves as a translator between technology and business groups.
Strategy & Planning
Lead and mentor BAs in work efforts
Uses vast experience in a variety of techniques to coach, plan and complete business analysis tasks
Oversight for large/complex projects business analysis activities
Ability to identify, manage and recommend resolution for requirement conflicts and issues
Defines business need and capability gaps driving the need for an enhancement or solution to be developed
Determines solution alternatives and assess for feasibility, risk, business value, and defines the approach selected
Plans and estimates BA activities, communications, and requirements management process
Acquisition & Deployment
Collaborate in the planning, design, development, and deployment of new applications,
and enhancements to existing applications
Conduct research on software and hardware products to justify recommendations and to
support purchasing efforts
Draw out stakeholder true business needs and requirements for the solution
Manages baseline and changes to requirements
Create and maintain forward and backward traceability in requirements
Organize, package and communicate requirements appropriate to audience
Prioritize requirements according to the project and stakeholder needs
Specify and model requirements in visual and textual formats
Assess organizational readiness of new solution
Validate the solution once created meets the business needs of the stakeholders
Evaluate how the solution is meeting business needs
Works to improve business analysis processes
Operational Management
Prepare and deliver reports, recommendations, or alternatives that address existing and potential trouble areas in operating systems across the organization
Create system design proposals
Perform cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed systems to aid management in making implementation decisions
Ensure compatibility and interoperability of in-house computing systems
Create systems models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to system programmers
Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems, and other post-implementation support
Provide orientation and training to end users for all modified and new systems
Perform application administration, configuration, support, and/or maintenance duties
Qualifications:
Formal Education & Certification
College diploma or university degree in the field of business administration, computer science, accounting, or management information systems and 5 years related work experience in that role
CBAP/CCBA Certifications, required, or completion within one year
CRITICAL SKILLS/EXPERTISE:
Knowledge & Experience
Proven experience in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems, or products.
Working knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and standards
Some familiarity with programming languages
Minimum 3 years working experience with relational databases such as Oracle and or SQL Server
Minimum 3 years working experience on at least one of the following: Unix, HP-UX, AIX, Linux, and/or Windows
Extensive practical knowledge in importing data for use in report software, spreadsheets, graphs, and flow charts
Proven experience in the operation and analysis of database, hardware, software, and standards, as well as data retrieval methodologies and mainframe applications
Demonstrated project management skills, medium to large projects
Excellent understanding of the organization's goals and objectives
Minimum 3 years knowledge on Health Care Industry
Expertise in the use of tools: MS Project, Visio, Microsoft Office, SQL developer
Working experience on Elicitation/Requirements gathering, documentation, creation of functional specifications and business workflows
Demonstrated working expertise in Leading teams (5 - 10 members) and Mentoring team members
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
