Immunization Clinic Nurse
A Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse who administers immunizations and/or biometric screenings in a clinic type setting.
Responsibilities include:
o Meet professional standards and pertinent regulations.
o Maintain and deliver quality service.
o Set up individual sites.
o Register clients.
o Obtain informed consent.
o Administer vaccine.
o Dispose of bio-hazardous waste.
o Dismantle site.
o Complete documentation.
o Knowledge of Universal Precautions.
o Knowledge of Maxim clinic policy and procedure.
o Knowledge of emergency action to be taken; including epinephrine administration during an anaphylaxis reaction.
o Knowledge of protocols for adverse reaction, reporting of incidents and injuries.
o Storage and transportation of necessary supplies to include vaccine.
o Other duties as assigned
Qualifications include:
o Active license in the state where the vaccine is administered.
o Current CPR certification.
o Current PPD or Chest x-Ray
o Professional references.
o Knowledge and understanding of the dosage, administration, indications, precautions, contraindications and possible adverse reactions related to the vaccine being administered.
o Knowledge of intramuscular injection technique and subcutaneous injection technique.
o Maxim background screening
